GOODBYE MY FRIEND...

Received a shocking news last nite about

his death - in Philippines.
Together with Mercy Relief Organization,
he's there to aid Typhoon Morakot victims.

To meet a long lost friend for coffee,
will never ever happen.

Watching him laying motionless with
eyes closed in peaceful serenity,
really breaks the heart of those who came
to pay their respects.

I'm lost for words.

Farewell my friend.

AL-FATEHA to
SHALAHUDIN JOHARI

My condolences to the family, friends and to whole nation of Singapore for the passing of a hero, Mr. Shalahudin Johari. I saw his story in The Electric New Paper just now. I am very saddened by the circumstances of his demise. I hope his family and friends will find some comfort knowing that he will be remembered as a hero in the hearts of the people whose lives he touched by helping them.

"The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example" ~ quote from Benjamin Disraeli

He was my best friend in RI and RJC. We lost touch when I went to San Francisco to study. Last year I bumped into him and it was so nice to see an old friend again. I wanted to call him up and hang out but kept postponing it. Now I guess it's too late. I'm sorry my friend.

4 months on, and I still think of my dear friend, Din. I cannot help but wonder how his family feels.

I love my life and all the things I live for. Yet, I envy him in his death, because, unlike him, we still have so many things for which we are answerable to God.

Din, one chapter of your journey to God is over. May Allah bless you with success in the Hereafter. Ameen.
